Some of The Challenges Facing Oro Valley

Naranja Town Site ("Theme Park")

"Looney Tunes" Loomis, Hizzoner the Mayah, is leading the charge for us to incur a secondary property tax so that the children can have more parks. In November 2008, you will be voting on a $48 million bond issue just for this. And the bond issue will be paid by a property tax on YOU. And the $48 million is just for starters.

Golder Ranch Fire District Annexation of Oro Valley

We haven't stopped fighting this one. Oro Valley gave the Golder Ranch Fire District a MONOPOLY on our fire service which has resulted in a doubling of our taxes for fire service. Our next goal: To enable La Canada Fire District the opportunity to annex the southern part of town, thus saving some of us thousands.

Arroyo Grande Annexation

Is anyone home? Oro Valley is rushing into annexing the state lands to our north. Some are gleeful at the thousands of homes the State wants built on this property. Others are not. We ask: Where Is The Feasibility Study? What are the intended and the unintended consequences?

Town Finances Out Of Control

Oro Valley Politicos tell us that we can't afford the big infrastructure they caused thru developer-friendly decisions and outrageous economic development agreement giveaways. The Politicos added a utility tax; a stormwater tax. Now they're calling for a property tax. It's no wonder the people who live around the Foothills Mall don't want to be part of Oro Valley.

"Hizzoner"

All of these issues lay in the lap of Mayor Loomis. The "bad" has all happened on his watch. His continuing thread: to over expand our beautify town. He's made some bad decisions and now we're stuck with the results. Remember: We are not stuck with him.
